To stand beside the ocean and see where land meets eternity, up above is an endless sky; the color blue is constant, eternal. It offers versatile shades—the wistful ink-stained sea or tranquil fjords. Passive blues add an inherent balance to colors that go POW! Harmonized with other green, purple, and brown mid-tones, blue echoes the soothing sense of nature. We have used watery and vivid shades of blue for an heirloom style and provincial themes. A favorite of ours is the Moon Wedding with two diametrically paired shades of moody blooms. A saturated buttercup offsets blue iris capturing a melodramatic allure to draw in guests.
The Moon Wedding shoot was a gathering of friends and local business owners on The Howland Preserve in Vosburg, Pennsylvania. A collaboration of kindred ideas brought forth an arresting alloy of rich hues; dusky blue and swirls of gold in a vintage lapis lazuli ring. Upon taking in decadent tones, the eye feels full, like the viewer has enjoyed their favorite meal. Following the Moon Shoot, we have added to our considerable goblet collection, blue and yellow glass with gilded starbursts, perfect for any pair who believe the night belongs to lovers.
